Brazilian Wax @ Apronbay Pt 1

Have you ever been to any beach for your holiday getaway?

Credit : Google

Always wanted to wear bikini but feel 'unclean' or how should I say it... Too bushy?
guess you never go for Brazilian Wax before huh? or is your bush virgin since you hit puberty? Never been touched or unharmed?

Brazilian Wax seems to be much more popular now here in Malaysia compared to 10 years ago. Blame it on the swim wear! They are getting smaller and smaller and pricier! Sigh.. Soon, I won't be shocked if Malaysian girls actually have Brazilian Wax as a fashion trend instead of a painful hair removing experience =D

If that's how you think ladies, it's time to change. For the better. You don't know how many bacteria you are carrying with you all these while in that bush. Plus, your strings of hair saying hi to the guy who is checking you out is totally NOT sexy! (and for the sake of all mankind especially if you share bathroom!)

So lets keep them trim and neat! =D Yay!

I had my first waxing experience @ Apronbay. *big wide grin*

Tammy, organised a contest looking for kakis to join her on her flight to Brazil, and me being me excited to try almost anything, hop on to the opportunities =P Wrote a blog post on how much I wanted to go and she chose me! Glad!

So let me introduce you to Apronbay.. Where all women (occasionally men) take off to a different world =P

A little introduction taken from the website,

"The name, Apronbay, is coined from an aviation term describing a reserved area on an airport runway to embark or disembark passengers, refuel and to be spruced up for the next journey. And like its namesake, our shop Apronbay is a beauty stop where one can expect to receive the best in service and pampering beauty treatments…all in first class!"

Fyi, there are few types of Brazilian Wax. Depending on your liking. But for the wax virgin, it all depends on your pain threshold. The higher your pain tolerance is the further they'd go removing them hair =D

They provide 5 types of Brazilian Wax.

Ipanema, the hairs at the side of the bikini line are waxed and the remaining hairs at the pubic area are trimmed.
Copacabana, removes the pubic hair of the bikini line deeper than Ipanema , leaving a thick strip at the front. The remaining hairs at the pubic area are trimmed.
Paris, the front and the side of the labia are waxed, leaving a strip of hair from the tip of the labia, all the way to the back.
Sao Paolo, the whole triangle, labia and buttocks crevice are waxed, leaving a narrow vertical strip or rectangular right at the front.
Rio De Janeiro, ALL OFF!

Besides Brazilian Wax they do offer something else =D Do check their website for list of services. There is something for everyone.

Now let me introduce you to the type of waxes they are using.

Waxes used are displayed on the top shelves.
For sensitive area, ie for Brazilian wax, underarm, nipples etc they will be using hard wax.

There are four types of hard wax,
Rose (white) contains titanium dioxide which is good. Titanium dioxide have whitening properties and will help in reducing skin trauma and redness.
Crystaline (orange) for sensitive skin.
The rest which are Homme (green) and Euroblond (brown) will be used for stubborn hair.

Now lets explore the plane shall we?

Noticed the door? Look like airplane door. Unique.

What I love the most about their outlet is the ambiance. When you step in to the room imagine that you just landed at your destination =D They have 5 rooms. 3 dedicated for waxing and 2 dedicated for brow and lash works.

Come! Lets explore with me!

The waxing rooms
Our first destination.

The busy bustling city =D For the city lover.

Next,

For the Oriental at heart visitors.

My favourite,

Looking for some beach getaway? ;P

The brow and lash rooms

The Old World. Reminds me of the barber chair from Sweeney Todd ;P

The Tulip attack! =D

Group photos!!

Want to know which type of  Brazilian wax I actually went for?
Whether I died in the room or I survived? (obviously the later..if not how to blog?),
 Want any tips on waxing?
Want to know the prices?
Want to know what my before, during, after feel?
Want to see my naked pictures?

Wait for the next post! (Brazilian Wax @ Apronbay Part 2)

Btw, decided not to put any naked pictures to avoid any controversial and being thrown out of Malaysia =P

Urban Decay Survival Kit + haul pictures

Hello people!!!

I want to show you what I've got from my last visit to Sephora SG. Not really a haul post (look like one doesn't it?)
This is my Survival Kit from Urban Decay! Get it for free if you purchase SGD120 and above worth of Urban Decay products. This promotion is only available in Sephora Ion in conjunction with their first anniversary.

There are 4 travel size products in the kit and they came in a zipper bag with Urban Decay name on it.. Cute ain't?
Together with 1 lipstick sample and 1 primer potion sample.

I literally bought SGD120 just because of the travel size product!!!! I forget I have the full size item!

Well here they are. Not gonna write in depth review because I have separate reviews for them already. =D

Here is De-Slick in a Tube. I actually purchased the full size together with the kit (without realizing it!). Went out with it twice. Not bad. Will give it a try few more weeks before I write a review.
This is 5ml. Love Urban Decay packaging!

Their oh-so-famous primer potion and definitely my love. I have yet to try Shadow Insurance from Too Faced. We'll see which one better =D Primer Potion makes your eye make up last longer and helps prevent creasing.
Will do my own version of Urban Decay VS Too Faced Shadow Insurance review soon.
This is the same size you get together with you Naked Palette, 3.7ml

Third items is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting spray, 10ml. I love this product and I have it in full size! I never go out partying without this sealing my make up! In love =D
FYI, I am waiting for my Kryolan Ultra Setting Spray to arrive. Yay!

This is the best seller for setting spray from Urban Decay. If you don't know, Urban Decay have three different type of setting spray. The All Nighter Setting Spray (below), De-Slick oil Control Make up Setting Spray and Dew Me setting Spray (for moisturising).

Fourth item is the famous 24/7 pencil! This survival kit is totally worth it! Another 24/7 to add on to my collection. =p This is in Lucky.

The swatches look bronzy. This color actually look a bit orangy upfront.

Next is their Lipstick sample. Texture and smell wise I LOVE IT! Creamy. Moisturizing enough =D I love their lipstick design ( even though it's not practical at all!) Have to love the dagger!

This is Gash.

Last sample is their Primer Potion in Eden.

I am actually selling off the travel size items because I don't find it useful to keep them when I have the full size and their full size isn't that big as well =D Mail me at yourwarehouse@gmail.com if you interested in any. I am selling 24/7 in Zero (travel size) instead of Lucky.

[update: I only have 24/7 Zero and De-Slick in a Tube for sale. Others have been sold.]

My latest haul from Sephora SG!
Too Faced Enchanted Glamourland. Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol3, Too Faced Absolutely Invisible, De-Slick in a Tube and Sephora eyeliner pencils.
The Naked palette is for a friend. I did a review on mine already, feel free to read =D

Some of you might have the palette above. Tell me what do you think???? I bet you definitely love them to bits! Do ask me question if you want to know more about any particular product.

Urban Decay Apocalyptic Nail Kit

Well, I have found new love! =D
It's Urban Decay nail enamel!
This set actually available somewhere in August 2009? This kit actually existed over a year =p Since in Malaysia we don't have Urban Decay readily available in the departmental store I guess its okay to do the swatches and review now =P
Plus we only have 2 seasons which are sunny and rainy =P When you wear your colours doesn't matter..

These are my very first branded nail polish! I am excited! But I got these technically for free because I redeemed it with my Sephora SGD40 voucher and this whole set is actually SGD25 only!
They still have it in Sephora Ion. Not sure about other branch.

Aside from the nail polish, I really like the bag that it came with. =D A pretty dark metallic purple. Should be good for travelling.

Overall, the nail polish is good.  Dry pretty fast and on average 2 coats are enough for nice colour payoff. Nothing much to complain. Seriously, SGD25 for 7 colours I feel this set is totally worth it! Plus I love all the colours in the set.

The picture above almost reflects the real colours of the nail polish upfront. Except for the white on the left. The white looks a bit greyish with pearly finish. I hope you get what I meant.

All of them are so pretty!

I wanted to do the swatches on my nails but my nails sucks now, so I will do it some other time on the nail display okies??

For now I guess this will do.

White Widow (White Sparkle)

Gunmetal (Gunmetal sparkle)

Apocalypse (black- purple)

Grunge (Metallic Peacock)

Meltdown (Royal Purple)

Big Bang (Sparkling Hot Pink)

Fbomb (True Red)

Another close up

Well thats it. I love all the colours like I mentioned before but if you ask me to choose my most favourite is Grunge and least favourite will be Apocalypse.

Most favourite: Grunge

Least favourite: Apocalypse

If you are friend with me on Facebook you might already see my recent haul from Sephora =P I just got myself the Enchanted Glamourland, Book of Shadows vol 3 and few other items =) Yay! I am planning to get Urban Decay Summer of Love Nail Kit as well! pretty but they are not available in SG yet....

Do you love the colors???? If you have similar colors do share! =D

ps: reviews will be a bit slow until 14 December 2010.

Pastel Nail Color

Who doesn't love pastel nail color?
Recently I go crazy over colours and painting my nails in weird color is one of the way I express  my love for colours. As you would have probably know I don't buy expensive nail polish . Well I use them but I don't buy because I have no money (blame the make up!!!). But my housemate collects them :p Lucky me to be able to steal some of her colours to use.

I love pastel colours but I hate them at the same time. Most of the cheap pastel nail colours appear streaky. Urgh.. a total turn off! And when I say cheap they are not really cheap at all (for me)! They are ranging from RM7 to RM29!!

Not to worry, recently I found a nail polish in pastel that doesn't gives you streaky result. The best part is I bought 4 yes FOUR at RM10 :p I bought them from OUG pasar malam. Too bad they don't have much pastel colours. Most of them are shimmery type.

So here is the colour of the week :D

Aside from having only few pastel colours this nail polish didn't stay as long as OPI or Sally Hansen. This will last 4 days before they start to chip off.
I don't care anyway because they are RM2.50 each! They dry pretty fast too! Thats all I need =D

I seriously have no idea where this brand come from. But my best bet is from China. They manufacture everything in the world you know...

ps: The bottle kinda look like Orly right?  If I top this nail polish with my matte topcoat from Topshop the outcome look similar to Orly's Plastic Collection Viridian Vinyl...Hmmm......

Any new collection you are falling in love head over heel right now??? I am in love with Orly Cosmic Fx...
BTW, I had a super awesome possum fun in Sephora :p So do expect a lot of Urban Decay reviews in December after exam! =D AND I just ordered my Kryolan Setting Spray!!! YAY!!!! Super Awesome!

Collistar Termoactive Talasso Scrub.

Collistar is a multinational Italian company, specializes in cosmetics and beauty products with exclusive sales channel in perfumery.

What I have here is a scrub, as the name suggest this scrub will provide a warm sensation upon application. This warm sensation will aid the exfoliating and boost up the reshaping process.

This green scrub we have here definitely didn't look much. Even the texture caught by camera doesn't look quite "yummy" to use.

When I read the ingredients and the description given, I was 'wow-ed' to no end.

  • This scrub contains 90. Yes NINETY types of sea salts for the scrub. (That's hellalotof a sea salts man! )
  • Six phytoextracts with specific lypolitic properties act in synergy to reduce the accumulation of fat. Their effectiveness is boosted by the warm effect which stimulates the skin’s microcirculation
  • By osmotic effect, the sea salts will stimulate the drainage of excess liquids ( I guess helps with water retention as well? )
  • The main ingredients in this scrub will be sea salts, Green Tea, Ivy, Fucus Vaciculosus, Fig Shoot, Actisculpt, Lavendar and Rosemary essential oils and Glycerine.

With this one green scrub you can get three benefits. Revitalizing, Reshaping and Exfoliating.

What I say?

I only had this scrub for 18 days now. So far I have only tried this 5 times (according to the website you are suppose to use this twice a week). Definitely not enough to see the reshaping effect yet for sure. So here is the general review.

Not too sure if you can estimate the textures of the scrub from the picture. But the salt is rather fine. A bit liquid-y overall because of the essential oils. Best used in the shower.

This scrub is to be used on dry skin ( do not wet your skin prior application) . Concentrate more on the area that tends to accumulate fat, ie inner thigh, underarms, and tummy.

Massage the salt in circular upwards motion. Upon applying the scrub on my thigh I can feel the immediate warm sensation that they claim will aid in the skin's microcirculation.
You will definitely feel the heat! I keep on scrubbing gently until the warm feeling is gone and move on to the other thigh, arms and tummy. You can rinse off under the shower.

My skin did actually turn red even when I scrub myself gently. This really shows that the product really works =D  I stray a little bit and actually use this scrub to scrub my knees and elbow. The result is rather impressive! My skin become smooth and supple.

I just love the essential oils used in this scrub. The smell is super amazing. If you are a big fan of Lavendar smell (like me), trust me you will DEFINITELY LOVE the smell of this product. Super relaxing.

I haven't see any reshaping effect from the use of this product yet. Will use up the product and see whether the scrub can firm up my arms a little bit. If this product really work I will definitely purchase this in the future.
On the other hand, up to date this product works really wonderful as a exfoliator and skin moisturizer. Thanks to the glycerine and essential oils!

You can get this product from Sasa at RM145 for 700g

Disclaimer : This product is a deluxe sample 150g given free for review purposes by Sasa.

Boscia Oil Free Daily Hydration SPF15

It's time for moisturizer people!!

I don't know how many of you have actually heard about this brand. I don't think Malaysia have this..Do they? I got this sample size moisturizer for free when I was queuing up to make payment at Sephora Singapore. Because the queue was so damn long they gave us each a 15ml tube of Boscia for our patience (I so damn love Sephora!!) . I am very skeptical on what I put on my face. Even though I don't have sensitive skin, I don't simply slap my face with free product when I got them. Plus I have this mentality that free stuff sucks. Yea blame the way I was raised. "Nothing is free"  =P

I actually start using this sample size out of desperation. You see.. One day when I travel I forget to bring along my moisturizer. Since I never clean up my handbag, this is the only thing I had. Since I already have it with me, I might as well use it.Honestly I was pretty impressed with the texture and the after feel =D

My face is combination dry skin. As the name suggest it is oil free. I have been told that oily product is not good for the skin because you might get Milia (oil seed). So far I have had two and I removed them already. Yay!

The product feels very light on the skin. Not in very thick consistency. What I love the most about this product is the smell. Some of you might not like it tho. The product smell herbal-ly. Good thing that it is preservative free as well.

My face occasionally tends to shine especially on the forehead, and I notice this product controls oil pretty well. I am talking on behalf people who have combination dry skin here. If you are super oily I am not too sure then. But sometimes when my face feel dehydrated this moisturizer is not enough to keep my face moisturize (so I assumed this will be better off wE s@
r7U P RP / . When my fa. When my face feel super dehydrated normally I will use my Dermalogica smoothing cream =)

According to the website this product are meant for people with normal to oily skin and combination. Seriously, so far this is the MOST oil free moisturizer I have ever tried. After applying, my skin feel so smooth. For my skin, I practically didn't shine the whole time. Pretty awesome. I love this stuff.

For those of you who are looking for the perfect moisturizer you ought to try this one out!  You don't have to buy the full size product. Just try the sample size will do.
I am a bit stingy when it comes to applying my product. I apply them just the perfect amount needed to cover my entire face, nothing more and nothing less. That is why my product can last me pretty long time =D

Like most of us always say, great stuff always come with a great price tag =) For my student purse this thing is pretty expensive. I am not too sure how much this is retailing in Sephora Singapore. Will update the price when I go over. But in their website the full size product which is 40ml is retailing at USD36
[UPDATE] 40ml is retailing at SGD55.

Ps: this product is actually one of their bestseller! Cheh..No wonder so nice.

If you have super oily skin and you tried this product before share it with me!! =)
